1. Open the Ask tab and type what you're pouring for — mention the food, red or white, how many people, and a price range if it matters. Example: "a red for steak tonight, 6 of us — nothing too heavy".
2. You get back bottles you already own that fit, ranked, each with a suggested number of bottles for your group.
3. Ask follow-ups in the same thread — "add a white for the starter", "what if it's 10 people" — and it keeps the context.
4. It favours wines in their drink window. Ask "which of my wines are past their prime?" to surface bottles to use up, or say "any vintage" to ignore the window.
5. On a phone, tap the 🎤 on your keyboard to speak your question instead of typing.
6. If nothing you own is a good match, it says so and suggests wine styles worth buying.

Recommendations are AI-generated suggestions — trust your own taste.

iPhone (Safari)

1. Open this page in Safari.
2. Tap the Share button (box with arrow, bottom of screen).
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Tap Add.

Android (Chrome)

1. Open this page in Chrome.
2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮ top-right).
3. Tap whichever of these your Chrome shows — they all do the same thing:
   • Install app
   • Add to Home screen
   • Install and create shortcut — on the dialog that follows, tap Install (not "Create shortcut")
4. Confirm with Install or Add.

The installed app opens from your app drawer (swipe up from the home screen) — it may not drop an icon on the home screen itself. Drag it out of the drawer if you want one.

Don't see any install option? Usually one of:
• It's already installed — the menu shows Open WineCellar instead. Use that, or check your app drawer.
• Desktop site is ticked in the ⋮ menu — untick it, let the page reload, try again.
• You're not in Chrome — in Samsung Internet it's ⋮ menu → Add page to → Home screen; other browsers vary.
• Just uninstalled it — Chrome hides the prompt for a while. ⋮ menu → Delete browsing data → site data, then reload.

Windows (Chrome or Edge)

1. Open this page in Chrome or Edge.
2. Chrome: three-dot menu → Save and share → Install page as app.
   Edge: three-dot menu → Apps → Install this site as an app.
3. Click Install — the app appears in your Start menu and taskbar.

Mac (Chrome or Safari)

1. Open this page in Chrome or Safari.
2. Chrome: three-dot menu → Save and share → Install page as app.
   Safari (macOS Sonoma+): File menu → Add to Dock.
3. Click Install — the app appears in your Dock and Applications folder.

Notifications

Turn on Notifications in Settings → Preferences to get an alert when your wine shop posts a new pick, event, or announcement, and the day before an event you've RSVP'd to — even when the app is closed. Turn the switch off any time to stop them. On iPhone/iPad you must add the app to your Home Screen first (steps above), then open it from the Home Screen icon — Apple only allows notifications for installed web apps, iOS 16.4+.

Turned it on but nothing shows on your computer? Your operating system has its own master switch for the browser, separate from this app:
• Windows: Settings → System → Notifications → scroll to Google Chrome (or your browser) and make sure it's On; also check Do not disturb / Focus is off.
• Mac: System Settings → Notifications → Google Chrome → Allow Notifications on.
Banners also auto-hide after a few seconds — check the notification center (Win + N on Windows) if you missed one.

• Have / Had / Both — toggle between wines you own, wines you've finished, or all.
• Filters — narrow by varietal, region, vintage, or food pairing.
• Labels — switch to a photo card view.
• Drinkable — show only wines currently in their drink window.
• Tap any row to edit details, log a drink, add a purchase, or add notes.
• On mobile, swipe left on a card or long-press a row to quickly log a drink.

In Settings → Import Wine List, upload a CSV export from CellarTracker, Vivino, or a backup exported from this app. Duplicate wines (same winery + name + vintage) are skipped automatically.

Imports often arrive missing details — use the four Enhance tools right below the import button to fill them in with AI:

• Fill Map Coordinates — pins wine regions on the Map tab. Fast, since only unique regions are looked up.
• Fill Critic Scores — AI estimates a 0–100 professional score for wines missing one.
• Fill Descriptions & Details — AI writes description, tasting notes, drink window, and food pairings.
• Enhance All — runs all three above in one click (coordinates first, then scores and details together).

Each tool shows a pending count and estimated time before you start, with a progress bar and Stop button while running.

• You can have multiple cellars — tap your cellar name in the top-left to switch.
• Roles: Owner (full control) · Member (read/write) · Guest (read-only).
• Rename — go to Settings → Cellar and type a new name. Duplicate names are not allowed.
• Merge — in Settings, choose a target cellar and click Move All Wines. Every wine, purchase, consumption record, and note moves to the target cellar and the source cellar is deleted. Only owners can merge.
• Delete — removes the cellar and all its wines permanently. You must have at least one other cellar first. Only owners can delete.
• Invite others via Settings → Members. They receive an email link to join.
• Transfer Ownership — in Settings → Members, use the crown icon next to a member to make them the new owner. You become a member.
• Share Links (Settings → Share Cellar) let anyone browse your cellar without logging in. Set an expiry or label each link. Only owners can create or revoke share links.

• Drink Tonight — wines currently in their prime drink window, sorted by oldest vintage.
• Drink Soon — wines entering their window within the next 12 months.
• Reorder List — out-of-stock wines you rated highly.
• Spending chart — monthly purchase totals for the last 12 months.
• Ledger (global) — every purchase and consumption across all wines, filterable by date.
